Our Omniscient, Omnipresent God
KEY VERSE: "Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?" Psalm 139:7.
God has no limitations. You and I are governed. The weather determines what we wear. The terrain tells us how to travel. Gravity dictates our speed. Health determines our strength. We may challenge these forces and alter them slightly, but we never remove them.
God, the omniscient, omnipresent One does not check the weather—He makes it. He does not defy gravity—He made it. He is not affected by health for He has no vulnerable, human body. He has no limitations. He is equally active in Cambodia as He is in Connecticut.
The psalmist asked, "Where can I go to get away from Your Spirit? Where can I go to get away from you?" The answer, of course, is, "Nowhere." Yes, God is everywhere. We can see His power daily. Pounding waves. Prism-cast colors. Birth, life and death. We are surrounded by God's handiwork.
We should look on our life's journey as a great adventure. We do not know what is going to happen next, but God does. As we follow His Son, Christ Jesus, we should not be uncomfortable with His choices and changes for us.
LIVING IT: With the psalmist we should praise Him and rejoice, knowing we are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).
