Make Your Days Count!
KEY VERSE: "So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom," Psalm 90:12.
I remember the long grueling days at school before summer vacation. The days seemed to pass so slowly. Once school was over for the year, I looked forward to three months of leisure. The problem was the days of summer seemed to pass much more quickly than the days of the school term.
Another year is past. A new year is about to begin. How did you spend the past three hundred sixty-five days? Do you have something positive you can show for the passage of time? The most important use of our time is in spiritual matters. How faithful were you to attend church services during the past year? Did you share your testimony with at least one lost person? Did you devote time to the ministry of the church of your membership? Did you devote part of each day to prayer and Bible study?
Create a budget for your free time. Determine how much time each week you wish to spent on various activities. Begin by making time for daily prayer and Bible study. Provide time for family activities. Be sure to include all church services and activities in your time budget. While looking at the time budget, it may seem that you will not have time for fun activities. All these activities should be considered fun.
JUST A THOUGHT: You will be amazed how, by using your time wisely, you will have time to do other activities.
