Come Out—Be Separate!
KEY VERSE: "Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you," 2 Corinthians 6:17.
I saw a skunk walking through our backyard. My black Labrador puppy began to run toward the skunk wanting to play. She did not understand the danger in which she was placing herself True to form, when she got too close, the skunk sprayed her with its repulsive aroma.
A popular belief among many religious people is that it does not matter what a person believes about spiritual matters. This mistaken notion is that God is big enough to accept anyone regardless of his doctrinal standards. Nothing could be further from the truth. God has ordained true biblical doctrine in the inspired Word of God. Anyone who does not hold to doctrinal truth as defined by God is not held in divine favor. Christians must hold to doctrinal purity to be held in divine favor.
Heresy is no better than the pungent spray of a skunk and makes a mockery of true biblical doctrine. True biblical doctrine has nothing in common with heresy. Christians must not tarnish their spiritual testimony by accommodating heresy or heretics. They should proclaim biblical truth and denounce heretical beliefs. They should not enter into spiritual cooperation with anyone who does not hold to the truths of God's Word. The truth must not be compromised.
JUST A THOUGHT: Sincerity of belief does not make a lie the truth.
