The Twelve Children of Israel

KEY VERSE: "The sons of Rachel; Joseph, and Benjamin," Genesis 35:24.

The ways of God are too great for man to understand. In this one verse, we see the birth of two of the twelve children of Israel, one of which is named Joseph. God was already working through this child to save the Israelite nation. Israel loved Joseph greatly and gave him a coat of many colors. His elder brothers were jealous over the attention their father gave Joseph. They sold him into slavery and told their father that Joseph had been killed by a wild beast. Eventually, Joseph ended up in Egypt. This was not by accident. Through the plan of God Joseph eventually became governor in Egypt. Because of a severe famine in their own country, Joseph's older brothers went to Egypt to buy food. They did not realize the one to whom they were speaking was the brother they had sold into slavery. God placed Joseph in this position at this time to save the people of Israel from ruin.

Through the seed of the nation of Israel, the day would come when the Messiah would be born in the flesh. He came from Heaven's glory to earth's gloom to save sinners from eternal damnation. He came to seek and save lost sinners. Jesus fulfilled the Father's plan of redemption for humanity. Salvation comes to everyone who repents of sin and accepts Jesus Christ as Savior.

JUST A THOUGHT: God left nothing to chance so you could be saved.
