Daily Prayers (Hymn of Praise to Marian):

(Hymn of Praise of the Virgin Mariam)

(D) Forth Day of The Week - Wednesday

1. All the hosts of the Heavens say, Blessed art thou,

O thou second heaven upon the earth, Door of the sunrise

(or the East), Mariam the Virgin, thou pure Bridechamber

of the Holy Bridegroom. The Father looked down from

heaven, and found none like unto thee; He sent His Holy

One, and He became incarnate of thee.

O HOLY VIRGIN MARIAM PRAY FOR US.

2. All generations shall ascribe blessings unto you,

You alone are our Lady, The Bearer of God. Great and

wonderful things have (the Prophets) prophesied concerning

you, O City of God, for thou art the abode of all those who

rejoice. All the Kings of the earth walk in thy light and all

nations in thy splendor (Isaiah 9:3). O Mariam, all

generations shall ascribe blessings unto you. And shall

worship Him who was brought forth by you, and shall

magnify Him, (All of them).

O HOLY VIRGIN MARIAM PRAY FOR US.

3. You are in very truth the cloud, and you have shown us

the water of the rain, the sign of the Only Begotten, The

Father established thee, the Holy Spirit took up His abode

on you, and the power of the Most High overshadowed you,

O Mariam, and verily you did bring forth the Word, the Son

of God, Who endures forever. He came and has delivered

us from sin. O Holy Mariam Great was the honour that was

bestowed upon you, O Gabriel, the Angel of the

Annunciation with the joyful face, He did proclaim unto us

the birth of the Lord, Who has come to us, and He did

announce Him to Mariam, the spotless Virgin, and did say

to her, “Rejoice Thou, O Thou art full of grace, God is with

thee” (Luke1:28).

O HOLY VIRGIN MARIAM PRAY FOR US.

4.Thou did find grace, The Holy Spirit dwelt upon thee, and

the power of the Most High overshadowed you, O Mariam.

Verily you did bring forth the Holy Saviour for all the world.

He came and He has delivered us.

O HOLY VIRGIN MARIAM PRAY FOR US.

5. Our tongue this day praise the work of the Virgin.

We praise Mariam, the God-Bearer, because our Lord and

Redeemer Eeyesus Kristos was born of her in the city of

David. Come, O all you nations, and let us ascribe blessing

unto Mariam, for she is at once mother and Virgin. Rejoice,

O pure Virgin, in whom there is no blemish, to whom came

the Word of the Father, Who was incarnate of her. Rejoice,

O vessel unblemished, perfect and spotless Woman.

O HOLY VIRGIN MARIAM PRAY FOR US.

Rejoice thou, O Garden endowed with reason, thou abode

of Kristos, Who became the Second-Adam because the

first Adam was the man. Rejoice thou, O Woman who bore

the Only-Begotten, Who, having gone forth from the bosom

of His Father, suffered no change. Rejoice, O thou pure

Bride-chamber, who are adorned with all the beauty of

praise, He came and was incarnate of you.

Rejoice, O Thorn-bush, who was not consumed by the fire

of the God-head. Rejoice, thou O mother and Maid, Virgin,

thou second heaven, who did carry in your body Him who is

born aloft by the Cherubim and Seraphim.

O HOLY VIRGIN MARIAM PRAY FOR US.

And because of this we rejoice and we sing with the Holy

Angels with joy and gladness, and we say “Glory to God in

the heavens, and peace on earth, His good will to men.

(Luke 2:14)” For He unto Whom belong glory and praise for

ever and ever is well pleased with thee. Amen.

O HOLY VIRGIN MARIAM PRAY FOR US.

6. The glory of Mariam is greater than that of all the saints,

for she was worthy to receive the Word of the Father. Him

Who make the angels to be afraid, Him Whom the watching

Angels in heaven praise, did Mariam the Virgin carry in her

womb. She is greater than the Cherubim, and superior to

the Seraphim, for she was the Ark (or Tabernacle) of the

Holy Trinity. She is Jerusalem, the city of the Prophets,

and she is the habitation of the joy of all the saints. On the

people who sat in darkness and shadow of death has a

great light risen. God who rest in His Holiness became

incarnate of a Virgin for our salvation. Come ye and look

upon this marvelous thing, and sing ye His song because of

the mystery that has been revealed unto us, for He who was

become a man, the Word mingled (with our nature), He who

had no beginning (assumed) a beginning for Himself, and

He who had no days (reckoned) to Himself days, and He

who was invisible, showed Himself; the Son of the Living

God became a man indeed, Him do we worship and praise.

O HOLY VIRGIN MARIAM PRAY FOR US.

7. Ezekiel the Prophet testified concerning her and said,

“ I see a sealed door in the East, sealed with a great and

wonderful seal, and no one except the God of the mighty

one has gone through it. He went in and He came out.”

(Ezekiel 43:4; 44:1-2).

O HOLY VIRGIN MARIAM PRAY FOR US.

8. This door is the Virgin who brought forth for us the

Redeemer. And after she brought Him forth she remained

in her virginity. Blessed is the Fruit of thy Womb, O God-

bearer, who came and delivered us out of the hand of the

Enemy who was merciless. Complete are thou and

blessed; thou has found grace with the King of Glory, the

God of truth. O HOLY VIRGIN MARIAM Majesty and

Glory belong to you more than to all those who dwell upon

earth. The Word of the Father came and was incarnate of

you, and walked about with men, for He is compassionate

and a Lover of men. He delivered our souls by His Holy

coming. O HOLY VIRGIN MARIAM PRAY FOR US.

Morning Prayer

In the name of the Father……….

Opening Prayer

O God our heavenly Father, who hear the prayer and cry of your children, and grant them what they want and ask you, we humbly ask you to hear our morning prayers to begin this day with you and end it with you. Amen. Our Father…

Psalm 56: 1-13

56:1 Be merciful to me, O God: for man would swallow me up; he fighting daily oppresses me. 56:2 Mine enemies would daily swallow me up: for they be many that fight against me, O thou most High. 56:3 What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. 56:4 In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do to me. 56:5 Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts are against me for evil. 56:6 They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul. 56:7 Shall they escape by iniquity? in your anger cast down the people, O God. 56:8 Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into your bottle: are they not in your book? 56:9 When I cry to thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me. 56:10 In God will I praise his word: in the Lord will I praise his word. 56:11 In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do to me. 56:12 Your vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises to thee. 56:13 For you have delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living? Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, As it was in the beginning…

Psalm 57: 1-11

57:1 Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me: for my soul trusts in thee: yea, in the shadow of your wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast. 57:2 I will cry to God most high; to God that performs all things for me. 57:3 He shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth. 57:4 My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword. 57:5 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be above all the earth. 57:6 They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down: they have digged a pit before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen themselves. Selah. 57:7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise. 57:8 Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early. 57:9 I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing to thee among the nations. 57:10 For your mercy is great to the heavens, and your truth to the clouds. 57:11 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: let your glory be above all the earth. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, As it was in the beginning…

Psalm 58: 1-11

58:1 Do ye indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men? 58:2 Yea, in heart ye work wickedness; ye weigh the violence of your hands in the earth. 58:3 The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies. 58:4 Their poison is like the poison of a serpent: they are like the deaf adder that stops her ear; 58:5 Which will not hearken to the voice of charmers, charming never so wisely. 58:6 Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth: break out the great teeth of the young lions, O Lord. 58:7 Let them melt away as waters which run continually: when he bends his bow to shoot his arrows, let them be as cut in pieces. 58:8 As a snail which melts, let every one of them pass away: like the untimely birth of a woman, that they may not see the sun. 58:9 Before your pots can feel the thorns, he shall take them away as with a whirlwind, both living, and in his wrath. 58:10 The righteous shall rejoice when he seesthe vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked. 58:11 So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judges in the earth. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, As it was in the beginning…

The Gospel of St. Luke 18: 1-8

18:1 And he spoke a parable to them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: And there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; Yet because this widow troubles me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night to him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? He who receives the Saint by the name of the Saint shall receive the Saint’s reward. Amen

Concluding Prayer

Lord our God, God of mercy and love, help us to keep on working, with fear and trembling, to complete our salvation, for you are always at work in us to make us willing and able to obey your own purpose. Grant us your grace to do everything without complaining or arguing, that we may be innocent and pure, as your perfect children. Amen. Our Father…O my Lady Mary…..

Opening Prayer

Lord God, our heavenly Father, we pray to you and ask you in our evening prayer to help us to remember that our fathers were put to the test to prove their love of God. Psalm 59: 1-17

59:1 Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God: defend me from them that rise up against me. 59:2 Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men. 59:3 For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul: the mighty are gathered against me; not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O Lord. 59:4 They run and prepare themselves without my fault: awake to help me, and behold. 59:5 Thou therefore, O Lord God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen: be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah. 59:6 They return at evening: they make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city. 59:7 Behold, they belch out with their mouth: swords are in their lips: for who, say they, doth hear? 59:8 But thou, O Lord, shall laugh at them; thou shall have all the heathen in derision. 59:9 Because of his strength will I wait upon thee: for God is my defence. 59:10 The God of my mercy shall prevent me: God shall let me see my desire upon mine enemies. 59:11 Slay them not, lest my people forget: scatter them by your power; and bring them down, O Lord our shield. 59:12 For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips let them even be taken in their pride: and for cursing and lying which they speak. 59:13 Consume them in wrath, consume them, that they may not be: and let them know that God rules in Jacob to the ends of the earth. Selah. 59:14 And at evening let them return; and let them make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city. 59:15 Let them wander up and down for meat, and grudge if they be not satisfied. 59:16 But I will sing of your power; yea, I will sing aloud of your mercy in the morning: for you have been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble. 59:17 To thee, O my strength, will I sing: for God is my defence, and the God of my mercy. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, As it was in the beginning…

Psalm 60: 1-12

60:1 O God, you have cast us off, you have scattered us, you have been displeased; O turn thyself to us again. 60:2 You have made the earth to tremble; you have broken it: heal the breaches thereof; for it shakes. 60:3 You have showed your people hard things: you have made us to drink the wine of astonishment. 60:4 You have given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah. 60:5 That your beloved may be delivered; save with your right hand, and hear me. 60:6 God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth. 60:7 Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver; 60:8 Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe: Philistia, triumph because of me. 60:9 Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom? 60:10 Wilt not thou, O God, which hadst cast us off? and thou, O God, which didst not go out with our armies? 60:11 Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man. 60:12 Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, As it was in the beginning…

Psalm 61: 1-8

61:1 Hear my cry, O God; attend to my prayer. 61:2 From the end of the earth will I cry to thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. 61:3 For you have been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. 61:4 I will abide in your tabernacle forever: I will trust in the covert of your wings. Selah. 61:5 For thou, O God, have heard my vows: you have given me the heritage of those that fear your name. 61:6 Youwilt prolong the king's life: and his years as many generations. 61:7 He shall abide before God forever: O prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him. 61:8 So will I sing praise to your name forever, that I may daily perform my vows. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, As it was in the beginning…

The Synaxarium:

THE SEVENTH MONTH

MEGABIT 07

(March 16)

IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER AND THE SON AND THE HOLY SPIRIT,

ONE GOD. AMEN.

On this day Philemon and Ablanius (Apollonius) became martyrs. This holy man Philemon was the jester and singer of Arianus, the governor of Antinoe, and Ablanius (Apollonius) was his musician; and the jester and the musician were friends and they wished to become martyrs. And Philemon the musician took the apparel, which was his and gave it to Ablanius (Apollonius), and he put on the apparel of Ablanius (Apollonius), and went to the governor, and confessed our Lord Jesus Christ before him. And the governor commanded his servants to shoot many arrows at him, and they did so. And after that Ablanius (Apollonius) came to the governor, and with him there was a singer who sang, and he confessed before him the Lord Jesus Christ. And the governor was wroth because of this thing, and he looked at him, and knew that he was Ablanius (Apollonius) the musician, and he was sad because of Philemon, for he had shot him with arrows and he was dead; and he commanded them to shoot arrows at Ablanius (Apollonius), and they did so. And it came to pass that whilst they were shooting at Ablanius (Apollonius), one of the arrows glanced back, and smote the governor in the eye, and destroyed it. Thus the holy men Philemon and Ablanius (Apollonius) ended their striving and received the crown of life.

And on this day also died the Emperor Theodosius.

And on this day also Saint Theodotus became a martyr. This holy man came from the district of Galatia. And he grew up in the fear of God, and practiced asceticism, and information was laid against him before the governor, and men reported to him that Theodotus was a Christian; and the governor commanded them to bring him bound before him. And when Theodotus heard [about this order], he came to the governor without making it necessary for them to seize him, and he uttered imprecations upon the governor and upon his idols; and the governor swore, and showed him [his] instruments of torture, and [tried to] force him to offer up sacrifice to the gods. And when the governor saw the firmness of his courage, he ordered his soldiers to crucify him, and to scrape the sides of his body until the organs, which were therein, became visible; and as he did not die they took him into the prison house. And they brought him out again, and hung him upon a cross, and they made new wounds in him, and scraped his sides, but the holy man accounted the tortures of the governor as nothing, because his heart was transfixed by the love of God, and his eyes saw the things which were in the heavens above. And when the governor saw the nature of his heart, he ordered his soldiers to cut off the head of the holy man with the sword. And when Saint Theodotus heard of the crowning of his martyrdom, he went forth rejoicing. And he prayed to God, and made petition and entreaty unto Him, saying, “I thank Thee, O my Lord Jesus Christ, for delivering me from all the evil, which hath followed me, and for casting down into Gahanam those who have risen up against me, and for raising me up from the gates of death.” And when Saint Theodotus had knelt down, the executioner brought a bandage to cover his eyes, but Saint Theodotus said, “A bandage of this kind is for those who fear death, but I, through the Name of my Lord Jesus Christ, do not fear death.” And the executioner drew his sword and cut off his head.

Glory be to God Who is glorified in His Saints. Amen.
