He Shall Reign Forever

KEY VERSE: "And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end," Luke 1:33.

It is an exciting time when parents are expecting a baby. There are thoughts about whether the child will be a boy or girl. They will dream of what profession the child might undertake when grown. The main concern is whether or not the child will be healthy.

The birth of Jesus was prophesied from the beginning of time. Much was known of Him before His birth. It was known He would be a male and be born in Bethlehem. He would be born of a virgin. His purpose on earth would be to become the sin sacrifice and would save people from their sins. If Jesus had not fulfilled all prophecy, He could not have been the Messiah. He did fulfill all prophecy and there is no doubt He is the Messiah.

Jesus lived thirty-three years on earth. After His death, burial and resurrection from the grave, He ascended into Heaven to be the Mediator between God the Father and man. The first time Jesus came to earth, He came humbly in a manger. The next time will be in the triumph of glory. He will rule the earth from the throne of David forever. He will reign in perfect righteousness. Everyone will bow before Him as King. His power will be unmatched and His majesty without equal. He indeed will be the King of kings.

JUST A THOUGHT: Presidents and prime ministers come and go, but the Lord will reign forever.
