The Only Savior

KEY VERSE: "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved," Acts 4:12.

There once was a television game show called "What's My Line?" On this game show panelists attempted to guess the occupation of a contestant by asking general questions about what he or she did. It was fun for the viewers to attempt to guess the secret occupation before the panelists could figure it out.

Jesus is the only person who can save people from their sins. No other religious personality or idol has the power to save souls and forgive sins. Jesus was proclaimed to be the Savior before His birth. He fulfilled His duty as Savior in dying on the cross and rising from the grave the third day. His desire is to save souls. He granted salvation to the woman at the well who had lived an immoral life. Jesus granted salvation to the man who was possessed by thousands of demons. He granted salvation to a man who had persecuted many Christians. He granted salvation to a man being crucified as a habitual criminal. What a wonderful Savior we have!

Salvation is refused to no one who comes to Jesus in genuine repentance and faith. The most hardened sinner will be saved when he accepts the forgiveness of sin offered in repentance and faith. The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from every unrighteous act a person can commit.

JUST A THOUGHT: There is but one Savior, Jesus Christ. There is only one path to the Savior, repentance and faith.
