I Am with Thee

KEY VERSE: "And the LORD appeared unto him the same night, and said, I am the God of Abraham thy father: fear not, for I am with thee, and will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for my servant Abraham's sake," Genesis 26:24.

This was a transitional time for Isaac. His father Abraham was dead. There was a part of him that wondered how he would be able to carryon in his father's absence. He felt alone. In this moment of despair, the Lord reassured Isaac that, though Abraham was dead, nothing else had changed. God kept the promise made that through Abraham's seed a great nation would be born. God promised Isaac that, no matter how difficult the journey that lay ahead, he was not alone. God was with Abraham and would be with Isaac.

We face many difficult and frightening transitions in life. There is the sorrow of losing a loved one in death. There is the uncertainty of losing a job and the task of finding a new one. There is the concern of how to face a difficult health issue. There are many challenges in life that can scare us to death. No matter the issue, you can be comforted by one fact, God is with you. He will not abandon you when life gets difficult. Once the crisis is over and God has brought us through another difficulty, we will be able to look back in wonder of the greatness of God.

JUST A THOUGHT: Time changes circumstances, but God never changes.
