How To Know God's Direction

KEY VERSE: "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding," Proverbs 3:5.

I remember the day that Dad showed me how to change the oil in the car. He was careful not only to tell me what to do but also to show me how to do it. The next time the oil needed to be changed in the car, I was able to complete the task without a problem.

The Word of God shows us how to follow God's leadership. The Holy Spirit leads us to accomplish God's will. God's Word is clear in its instructions. Christians must trust everything to the Lord. He is concerned about the big and little challenges that life presents us. To trust God means we have no doubt that He will lead us through the difficulties, and we will be better for following His leadership. We do not have to understand God's instructions to follow them. His knowledge is greater than ours.

We must seek God's will in every decision we make. One must acknowledge that the path that God has laid before him is better than the one he would chart on his own. The person who does not trust God with the small things surely will not seek His will in the big things. The person who does not trust God with the big things does not trust Him with the small things. God wants to direct our whole lives and not just part of them.

JUST A THOUGHT: God never steers us wrong.
